WHO IS UNSUNG HEROES
We can't thank our incredible team of dedicated committee members enough. Their hard work includes a variety of things from administration, logistics, sponsor strategy, event planning and more.
FOUNDER & ARTISTIC PRODUCER
COMMITTEE MEMBER &
Most of what there is to know about me can be found by getting involved with our shows. Be in the cast, crew, sponsor or just come and sit in the audience. You will see firsthand the power of these shows, the community it fosters, the entertainment, laughter, music and love it nurtures. It is the embodiment of what my mom passed on to my siblings and I.
Outside of working on these productions, I am a Customer Experience consultant, proud father of my little angels Joshua and Brayden, and very lucky husband to my beautiful wife and partner in everything, Jaime Saibil. Love you guys.
I am excited to be volunteering for such a special and meaningful cause with an amazing group of hard working, dedicated and talented people. As a kid, I constantly sang and performed in plays at school, at camp and in my basement, in front of my audience of stuffed animals. My love for performing likely led to my career choice as a litigation lawyer and I have been practicing law since 1990. I rediscovered my passion for musical theatre about 10 years ago and have performed in over a dozen different shows since then. In the process, I have made some of the best friends of my life. I was also a member of the Production Team for the parent plays at Leo Baeck Day School and for the Aim Chai project, which raised money for Ve’ahavta. It was in the Aim Chai show that I met Neal and I went on to perform in quite a few shows with him. Aside from being an unbelievable singer, what Neal has done with Unsung Heroes over the last three years is nothing short of remarkable. I am honoured and proud to be part of this year’s team and to help raise money for these incredibly worthy charities. I am also the proud mom of Ben and Sami and wife of our show photographer extraordinaire, Miles. Now…Let’s Get On With The Show!!
When Neal created Unsung Heroes he provided me and so many others the opportunity to do something we love, while raising money for causes close to our hearts. Sharing the stage with so many wonderful people over the years has afforded me a wealth of friendships I never would have been able to foster on my own. All the while being able to entertain and enjoy the warmth of an audience’s appreciation.
With Unsung’s newly expanded platform, there is even more goodwill to be done and good times to be had. I am thankful for the opportunity to help Neal make his vision a reality.
During the occasional moments when I am not preparing for a production of one sort or another, I spend my time working with Independent Retailers on how to improve the quality of their lives by taking control of their businesses – another rewarding experience.
I am very honoured to be joining the committee of Unsung Heroes. In addition to having performed in these wonderful productions each year, I am also a 4 time Sponsor. I am well aware of the impact the money we raise has on the causes we support each year which is why I joined the committee this year.
I am very fortunate to have been brought up with a strong foundation of giving back to community and as such have been involved in many wonderful charity organizations through the years running programs, helping raise funds, and bring awareness to different causes close to my heart. Where I am really blessed is seeing how this has been instilled in my children. Each have their own charities they support, and feel passionate about. It was particularly rewarding to see my eldest daughter happily volunteer her time to work backstage for all 3 of our productions last year, and see what it takes to pull off a show of this caliber.
When not performing and doing commitee work, I run my own baking business called Irresistibly Delicious and I am a busy mom of 3 awesome kids.
Last year I joined the cast of Unsung Heroes - Sing for Tomorrow and truly enjoyed the experience. I was proud to be part of this wonderful show, with such talented people. But most of all I was so proud to be part of an event that raised $52,000 for Leukemia research.
That's why I knew I had to join the committee this year to help make all of this happen. I have dedicated time every year for most of my life to working with a variety of worthwhile and deserving charities and organizations. I am honoured to be part of such a dedicated team and excited to break new records this year.
COMMITTEE MEMBER &
IMAGINE A CURE FOR LEUKEMIA FOUNDER
In 2006 I founded the Charity Imagine A Cure for Leukemia. Inspired by my Mom who was diagnosed with the disease in 2000. With a background in Human Resources, my passion for helping others and engaging the community in events Imagine A Cure for Leukemia has raised and donated over 1.2 Million dollars to research. When I am not fundraising I can be found teaching indoor cycling, FitBox or personal training. I am extremely grateful that my husband and our two awesome kids are forever supporting my many passions and interests. I am really excited to be working with the talented Barbara Pinchuk Unsung Hero’s Group. I was incredibly inspired by Neal's past productions and was thrilled that we worked together on the 2015 show. The talent and commitment of the cast and crew is commendable and I enjoyed every second of my time behind the scenes as well as my chance to fulfill my childhood dream of singing on stage.
I can’t begin to tell you how thrilled I am to be joining this brilliant crew of fundraisers and dream makers for 2016. Having watched several performances from the audience, and enthusiastically supporting my talented husband Robby over the years has made me a believer- that YES!, we can make a difference. Moreover, our daughter Skyler, with her myriad of talents as an actress and singer, has shown us time and time again that music and entertainment can be utilized for the greater good. Even our young Brody has taken a keen interest in music by honing his skills as a drummer. Our family has found a home in Unsung Hero Productions.
When I’m not playing the role of volunteer, I spend my time as a devoted wife, mother, and Real Estate Professional for the Suzy Goldstein Team.
If I can offer any wisdom, it would be when talking to people, always remember that you don't know what they went through that day, yesterday or what they will go through tomorrow. Learn to listen, not to judge and most of all learn to accept. Thank you for your continued generosity and support for Unsung Heroes !
I am honoured to have been included in this amazing group of volunteers with an eye for making a difference in a charitable way. I have had the pleasure of performing on stage in over 13 shows with many of our very talented cast mates and look forward to the challenges that come along with raising awareness and funds for the worthy causes that The Unsung Heroes Project encompasses.
I have been a performer since I was 11 and still can be found regularly touring the city with my band "The Garden."
I am & have been a hockey, football, baseball & soccer coach over the years and presently I am a V.P & board member of the Forest Hill Hockey Association. I spend my days as a custom home builder & renovator and thank my wonderful fiancé Michele and our 5 kids for their love & support.
I have been part of Neal’s family for almost thirty years!! I had a very special relationship with his mother (my mother-in-law or Mummy B as she referred to herself) and I couldn’t be more proud of all that Neal has accomplished in her name.
I have worked behind the scenes on ticketing for the past few years and I am very happy to be stepping it up a notch by joining the committee. My accounting background will be put to good use bringing Neal’s charitable dreams to fruition and supporting him administratively so he can focus on producing more incredible shows!
We go with our strengths so you will never see me performing – I leave that to the rest of my wonderful family. My son Jonah is a talented percussionist and pianist who makes me smile every time he plays and my daughter Marisa is an amazing competitive dancer who was overjoyed to perform with her father (my brilliant-at-everything husband Rich), her Uncle Neal and her Aunty Marlene in last year’s show.
I’ve been in events and marketing for close to 25 years, and as the VP of Fifth Element Group, you’ll find me with an extraordinary team of creative misfits designing and producing award winning events and campaigns throughout North America.
While I can’t sing (and trust me you don’t want me to try), I can make many other things happen... So I’m honoured and humbled to be a part of this outstanding team for Unsung Heroes. My life is driven by Taylor, Brody and Cole, my incredible triplets, born three and a half months premature, and as a result, all diagnosed with severe Cerebral Palsy. I’ve watched my kids struggle, endure and thrive, and I know first hand what it means for both the parents and to the children when you support kids that deserve a chance.
In 2009 I co-founded the charity THREE TO BE, for the development and advancement of innovative research, education, therapies and programs for children with neurological disorders. Over the past 5 years close to $3 million in grant funding has been raised. My experience in not-for-profit and my own personal passion for helping those in need makes Unsung Heroes a perfect fit for me.
At other times you‘ll catch me on a daily run before going home to be with my amazing kids. I’m thrilled to be involved and helping this fantastic cause in anyway I can!
